LPPI will also be welcoming two further candidates this summer at the end of June and beginning of August. This programme is a fantastic initiative and we are pleased to be actively involved and able to offer such an opportunity not just to one but to three individuals.

Why did you choose to study economics?

In July, I will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Surrey. I chose this degree after developing a genuine interest in economics during A levels. The degree has allowed me to specialise in the areas of most interest to me, including modules in environmental economics and political economics.

Why were you interested in an internship in investments?

I was interested in an internship in investments because I wanted to understand the roles that were available in asset management and to use the opportunity to explore different roles to discover which areas I would enjoy the most.

What attracted you to LPPI?

I chose LPPI because sustainability is at the core of its investment activities, and the company’s values are very much aligned with my personal interests in green initiatives. LPPI is giving me an opportunity to be exposed to many different parts of the investment business, as well as learning about several asset classes. This variety of exposure during an internship is fantastic.

What do you hope to do with the experience gained at LPPI?

I aim to complete my internship with LPPI having gained valuable work experience, applying the skills I have learned throughout my education to the real world, and understanding which investment role I would enjoy the most. Networking with professionals in the field will only help to bolster my confidence and communication skills as well as allow me to learn from industry professionals first-hand.
