Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) has appointed Sonia Gogna, former global head of solutions at Aberdeen, as a non-executive director to the LPPI board.
Sonia brings more than 20 years’ experience in investment management, actuarial, pensions and leadership experience gained from her executive career in fund management and investment consulting. She has specialist expertise in outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) and multi-asset investments, investment strategy and distribution.
At Aberdeen, Sonia led their solutions business across defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pensions, wealth, and insurance globally. Sonia has held several other senior roles at Aon, State Street and Willis Towers Watson.
Sonia currently serves as an independent board member at the Pension Protection Fund (which manages £32 billion of pension assets) and chair of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation GP board (a $6 billion subsidiary of CIFF) focused on children and climate change. She has an MBA from London Business School, a post-graduate diploma in actuarial mathematics, and a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Sonia succeeds Sarah Laessig, who is stepping down after six and a half years as a non-executive director on the LPPI board.
