Local Pensions Partnership Investments hosts first investment conference for clients

This week Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) held its first LPPI Investment Conference for clients in the City of London.

The conference provided an opportunity to bring its pension fund clients from Lancashire County Pension Fund, the London Pensions Fund Authority and the Royal County of Berkshire together and for LPPI to share its investment insights, sector updates and future plans.

This event was also designed as a training opportunity where clients heard from LPPI’s expert in-house teams and trusted external speakers including Robeco, Chronos Sustainability, Anglian Water, AlbaCore and Napier Park.

Over two days (1-2 March) clients heard from LPPI investment experts from infrastructure, global equities, real estate, private credit, operational due diligence, manager research and responsible investment teams.

The sessions were wide-ranging and covered factors in local infrastructure and real estate investment in the UK, a focus on net zero, current challenges and opportunities within credit markets (including European direct lending and global structured credit), and LPPI’s engagement process with external collaborations and partnerships, manager research, monitoring and engagement process. The keynote session was from DLUHC’s Teresa Clay on current thinking on LGPS pooling policy.

Chris Rule, CEO, LPPI and LPP Group, says:

“LPPI’s purpose is to deliver first class, value for money, investment outcomes aligned to our clients' interests, and to bring our expertise and spirit of collaboration together to help our clients invest sustainably in better futures.

“Our first Investment Conference was an opportunity to bring our clients together in a structured learning environment, connecting them with senior members of our investment team and some of our most trusted and valued specialist partners. It was very successful, with strong feedback from delegates and calls for a repeat of the event next year.”
